Incredibly delicious buffalo tartare in a refreshing, Asian marinade with lime, mint, ginger and garlic. A creation by food blogger Marcel Felix from BBQlicate.de.
INGREDIENTS
for 4 people:
- 500g buffalo fillet
- 1 clove of garlic finely chopped
- 2 shallots finely chopped
- 1 spring onion finely chopped
- 1 half bunch of coriander, roughly chopped
- 1 half bunch of fresh mint, roughly chopped
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp ginger zest
- 1 tsp lime zest
- Juice of ½ lime
- some sesame
- Chili flakes, salt, pepper
preparation
- Rinse the buffalo fillet with cold water and pat dry. Now first cut into thin slices, then into strips and finally into small cubes.
- Mix the other ingredients thoroughly with the exception of mint and coriander and season with salt, pepper and chili flakes.
- Now mix the finely chopped tartare with the marinade and carefully fold in the coriander and mint.
Optional: Do you own an Otto Wilde OFB ? Then you should definitely try this optional additional step: Heat up the OFB for a few minutes and arrange the tartare in a serving ring on the drip tray. Now the tartare is placed under the burner for a few seconds and lightly grilled on the top, so the fine tartare also contains delicious roasted aromas.
Bon appetite!
Many thanks to Marcel Felix from BBQlicate for the recipe and photography.
